Well, as I still can't my head around the Google PageRank opinion question I figured I'd turn to Google's resource for answering questions. Google Answers!
I posed the question:
Is Google's PageRank (TM) an opinion or an objective measurement
You can read it here
Now before anyone points out that it's just a researchers answer (maybe opinion? :-) ), I know - I'm just playing with them!
I particularly like the way they managed to get virtually every PageRank paper in to the answer with the exception of PageRank Uncovered (by myself and Mike Shishigin. :-) And missed the discussions on it that would have been apparent running this query on Google.
There's no arguing with me now, it says right on Google's site:
So, in essence, the answer to
your quetion is that PageRank is an objective measurement in that it
is using a number, in this case the number of outbound and inbound
links, to determine the number.
So what rating should I give them? I'm going to leave it up to you - whatever the voting is on this article on the support forums site at the end of the week is the rating they get! |
